Newcastle United lifted the Northumberland Senior Cup for the first time since 2018 with a hard-fought victory over Blyth Town at St. James' Park on Tuesday night.

Ben Parkinson and Amadou Diallo got the goals under the lights as the Magpies ended a six-year wait to win the 140-year-old cup for the 40th time, against a Blyth Town side who clinched the Northern League Division Two title this season after accruing 105 points.

A crowd of 1,887 watched a close game and Harriet Massey brought newcastleunited.com this gallery.

Ben Dawson's youngsters now head off to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Football Club Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens later this month, where they will look to claim some more silverware.
