Alexander Isak returns to Newcastle United's starting XI in one of two changes to the team which drew at Everton two weeks ago.

The Swedish star, who had been sidelined with a toe injury, replaces Harvey Barnes in Eddie Howe's side for the Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier is injured so Tino Livramento comes into the Magpies backline.

And Lewis Miley is among the substitutes, 217 days since his last appearance following a back complaint towards the end of last season followed by a metatarsal injury sustained in the summer.

Dan Burn will line up against his former club - he spent four seasons on the South Coast before signing for United in January 2022 - with Bruno Guimarães wearing the captain's armband.
