Carlisle-born White joined Newcastle's academy in 2016, progressing through the Magpies' youth ranks before making his first-team debut in a pre-season draw at Rotherham United in July 2021.
The Cumbrian youngster, who has represented England at under-18 level, was then handed his first senior start during a behind-closed-doors practice match at Burnley.
The central midfielder was part of the Magpies under-18s' run to the 2020/21 FA Youth Cup quarter-finals, scoring against Leeds United during a 4-1 win in round four.
He spent part of the 2021/22 season on loan with Hartlepool United, making his professional debut for Pools in an Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie away at Crystal Palace before, the following season, completing a loan spell with Exeter City during the second-half of the 2022/23 campaign.
After returning from a productive stint at Crewe, White was handed his top flight bow by Eddie Howe, who introduced him as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in February 2024.
In August 2024, White moved to MK Dons on a season-long loan just after extending his contract at St. James' Park.
