The 20-year-old joined United on Thursday, and is available for selection when Becky Langley's side face Nottingham Forest at Kingston Park on Sunday (kick-off 2pm).
And former Mid Ulster Ladies stopper Woods says she is raring to go after making the move to Tyneside to link up with Becky Langley's side.
"I just wanted to get straight in straight away," she said. "Everyone has been lovely, and everything about the club and everything I've seen really made me want to come to this club.
"It's what I expected really, and I just wanted to come here and play and be with everyone in the team."
Northern Ireland international Woods adds to a strong Magpies goalkeeping group that already includes Grace Donnelly, Hannah Reid and Elen Valentine.
And she believes that having three other team-mates in her position will help her to grow both on and off the pitch.
"In my former team, it was only me and our reserve keeper," she explained.
"Being in the last two days with Grace, Hannah and El, it's a goalkeepers' union that feels connected.
"They have treated me really well - we have just gelled and I feel like I'm at home. They are very supportive and we all speak highly of each other. They are a great group and it's great to be part of it.
"The development opportunity is a big thing for me, and I think I can really develop here. But I also want to help the team win as many games as possible and give my all."
United were backed by over 1,000 travelling supporters in their Women's FA Cup defeat at Super League giants Manchester United last weekend.
The Magpies' fans, Woods says, was a big driving factor behind her moving to Newcastle.
"The fans are unbelievable," she said. "It's great to see, in tier three, we have such a great fanbase and I think it will be great to play in front of them.
"I can't wait to meet them personally."
