The latest edition of UNITED – the Magpies’ official matchday programme – will be on sale around St. James’ Park tonight, with a revealing eight-page interview with goalkeeper Freddie Woodman inside.

The 24-year-old has started the 2021/22 campaign as Newcastle’s first-choice between the sticks, something he spoke about in great detail in the run-up to Burnley’s visit to Tyneside in the Carabao Cup.

Elsewhere, we’re delighted to bring you a guest column from snooker star David Lilley – who won the World Seniors Championship earlier this year, seeing off the legendary Jimmy White in the final at the Crucible.

Club Historian Paul Joannou provides four pages of content, including a look back at some of the Magpies’ most memorable wins in the League Cup over the years, while regular columnist Stan Gate brings a wealth of nostalgia of his own in “Programme Matters”.

In addition, we’ll bring you all you need to know about visitors Burnley – the Opposition section of the programme having been extended for the new season – as well as all of the reaction to Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

If you’re not able to make the game, you can still order your programme online – available on Curtis Sport’s website here.
