Newcastle United are saddened to hear of the passing of former forward, Vic Keeble.

Vic passed away with his family at his bedside following a short illness. He was 87.

Vic was the last surviving player from the club’s FA Cup-winning teams of the 1950s, having played in the 1955 final which saw Newcastle United defeat Manchester City 3-1 at Wembley.

He joined Newcastle from hometown club Colchester United in 1952 and went on to play 120 games for the Magpies, scoring 67 goals, before leaving for West Ham in 1957.

Everyone at Newcastle United extends their sincere condolences to Vic’s family, friends and former colleagues.
