Sterry’s only appearance for Newcastle this term came in August’s 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest at St. James’ Park. He did, however, play three times for the Magpies’ Under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy.
It is the second time that the 22-year-old defender has headed out loan. Last season, he made 20 appearances during a four-month spell at Coventry City.
