Steve Bruce has won the LMA Performance of the Week award - in association with Sky Sports Soccer Saturday - for Newcastle United's excellent 4-2 win at Leicester City

Goals from Joe Willock, Paul Dummett and a Callum Wilson brace gave the Magpies all three points at the King Power Stadium last Friday, with Bruce admitting that it was arguably his side's best display of the season.

The recipient of the award is decided by the League Managers Association's panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry, Paul Ince and Rachel Yankey. The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,500 competitive matches in professional football.

Bruce will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LMA Performance of the Week trophy.

He was also named as the Premier League's Barclays Manager of the Month for April earlier on Friday. The Newcastle United head coach guided his team to eight points from their four matches as the Magpies went unbeaten and took a huge step towards securing top-flight safety, which was eventually achieved this month.
