Rolando Aarons makes his first Premier League start of the season, while Paul Dummett returns to action after an injury absence of more than four months.

Neither Chancel Mbemba nor Jonjo Shelvey have figured in either of the Magpies’ last two outings, but both players come back into the fray for tonight’s clash, seemingly lining up next to one another in central midfield.

With Aarons coming in for Matt Ritchie on the right, there is a change on the opposite flank, too, with Jacob Murphy preferred to Christian Atsu. Of Newcastle’s three goalscorers at West Ham United on Saturday, Mohamed Diamé is the only one to keep his place in the team this evening.

The Senegalese will provide support to lone frontman Joselu, who teed up Atsu for the Magpies’ winner at the London Stadium.

On the bench, there is a place for Mikel Merino, who sat out Saturday’s clash entirely.
