The Brazilian international, who suffered an ankle injury which forced him to be substituted in last Sunday's win over Fulham at St. James' Park, has been passed fit to line up once more for the Magpies as they search for the victory which would return them to third place in the table.
Head coach Eddie Howe has opted to name an unchanged side for the trip to Selhurst Park, with Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schär, Sven Botman and Dan Burn forming a back four in front of goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Guimarães will anchor the United midfield in the capital, with the tireless Sean Longstaff to his right and Joe Willock to his left.
And further forward, Miguel Almirón and Joelinton will look to provide support from the flanks for frontman Callum Wilson, who scored a terrific overhead kick to earn the Magpies a point in the corresponding fixture last term.
Howe has named a familiar-looking bench too, with Elliot Anderson coming in for Chris Wood - who joined Nottingham Forest on loan on Friday - in the only change among the substitutes.
Last weekend's matchwinner Alexander Isak is named along with Allan Saint-Maximin, with Anderson and Jacob Murphy providing further attacking reinforcements.
Javier Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles, Jamal Lewis and Matt Ritchie are also included, along with goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka.
