Anthony Taylor will referee Newcastle United's Premier League game at Burnley on Saturday afternoon

Saturday 4th MayBurnley vs Newcastle UnitedTurf MoorKick-off 3pm BST

The Magpies head to Lancashire hoping for another victory against a struggling side, having seen off Sheffield United with a 5-1 win at St. James' Park last weekend, while Vincent Kompany's Clarets need the points to boost their hopes of surviving relegation to the Championship.

And Taylor has been confirmed as the referee for the contest, which comes just three days on from his outing in the Champions League semi-finals, where he took charge of Borussia Dortmund's 1-0 first leg win over Paris Saint-Germain in Germany.

Wythenshawe-born Taylor is one of England's most prominent and highly-regarded officials, having been a staple in the Premier League for almost 15 years. He has also been overseeing international matches for over a decade, and has FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Nations League and UEFA Europa League finals on his CV, along with appearances at European Championships and World Cups.

The 45-year-old has refereed three top flight games involving the Magpies this term: a 2-2 draw at Wolves in October, their 4-2 defeat at Liverpool in January and their 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest in February.
