Newcastle United forward Elias Sørensen has joined League One side Blackpool on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old links up with Terry McPhillips' men having just returned from international duty, and will remain at Bloomfield Road until the end of the current campaign.

Sørensen, who joined United from HB Køge in August 2016, has been in fine form for the Magpies’ under-23 side this term, netting 19 times.

This month, the frontman netted on his debut for Denmark Under-21s in Mexico, before adding another goal for his country in a subsequent fixture against the hosts in Mexico City.

He will now join the Tangerines who currently sit eighth in League One, two places and eight points shy of a play-off spot, and could make his debut at Coventry City on Saturday.

The Dane's United teammate Sean Longstaff enjoyed a successful stint on loan at Blackpool last term, bagging nine goals in 45 outings for the Seasiders.
