The West Sussex whistle-blower hasn't taken charge of a match involving the Magpies since his first game in the Premier League - a fixture between Burnley and Newcastle at Turf Moor in December 2019, which the Clarets won 1-0.

That is one of six top flight matches that former PE teacher Robinson has overseen in his career, three of them coming this season after he was promoted to Select Group 1 for 2023/24.

In those games he has shown 16 yellow cards but has yet to send a player off this term in seven matches in all competitions. Last season, he officiated 42 matches in all competitions, flashing 166 cautions and eight red cards.
