A tough trip to title-chasing Liverpool is next up for Newcastle and punters are expecting goals in a fixture that has provided some Premier League classics

Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings between the pair and in six of Newcastle's last nine visits to Anfield, with the chances of both teams finding the net again backed down to 21/20 from 11/8 this week.

It's no surprise that Callum Wilson is standing out in the betting as the main threat amongst the Newcastle players if there is to be an upset on Thursday night. The man wearing the famous number nine has struck two career goals against Liverpool and leads the scoring charts for the visitors this season with six league goals.

Five of those six have served as the opening goal in the game and Wilson is an 11/1 shot to hand Eddie Howe's man the advantage by breaking the deadlock, while the chances of him being Newcastle's first scorer on the night have been trimmed into 11/4 from 3/1.

Travelling supporters may draw hope from the fact that Liverpool have failed to beat the Magpies in their last two attempts, with a third consecutive draw in the fixture clipped slightly into 15/2 from 8/1 by BoyleSports this week. A whopping 22/1 is available on Toon Army supporters returning home victorious, and while Liverpool will kick off hot favourites to record a 2,000th top-flight win in the club's history, they'll be hoping a dismal Thursday record doesn't come back to haunt them.

The Reds have won only one of six Premier League games they have hosted on Thursdays, while the two Thursday matches at Anfield last season saw both Burnley and Chelsea get back on the coach with all three points thanks to 1-0 victories.
