Eddie Howe's side travel to the capital ahead of facing the Reds as the club aim to end a 56-year wait for a piece of major silverware as well as lifting their first domestic trophy since the FA Cup in 1955.
Isak, aiming to score in his third consecutive game against this weekend's opponents, is relishing a second cup final with the Magpies since joining from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022 but revealed it is business as usual in preparations for the highly-anticipated contest.
The Swedish frontman, who has scored 22 goals across all competitions so far this season, said: “I feel good and really excited for the game. The best way to prepare is to train as normal. It will come down to what we do as a team, and that is what we have to focus on. I am excited but focused on the job.
"We are contenders for titles which is what you want to win as a football player. We've been in a final before and we are now in another one so I think the chances are there.
"This club can achieve great things. We should really look at it one season at a time and, this season, we can achieve winning a trophy which would be amazing for everyone.
"It means a lot that we have the chance to change that. We have to be focussed on the game and not let the fact that the club hasn't won anything in a long time get to us so much. I understand the excitement around the city and the whole club but, personally, I feel quite relaxed about the game."
Isak has been in terrific goalscoring form for the Magpies this term, netting 17 goals in his last 18 competitive starts, and recorded a goal and assist during Newcastle's thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool at St. James' Park in December.
Asked about what has been to key towards his improvement as a player since the 2023 final, the United forward said: “Hard work, training and the mentality to want to get better which I have. I have ambitions to achieve things in my career and be the best version of myself.
"I have teammates that help me get better. Many players have been here since I came and you get better connections.
"I have high ambitions. I am trying to create my own history at Newcastle. I am happy with what I have done so far but always looking forward. I'm really enjoying my football and where I'm at in my career right now."
