Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope has been shortlisted for January's Premier League Castrol Save of the Month award for his stunning stop against Crystal Palace

The England stopper produced a sensational instinctive save to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park, diving to his right to get a hand to the powerful shot and divert it over the bar to help earn the Magpies a point on the road.

Pope has been in superb form for United this term, keeping 12 clean sheets in his 20 Premier League outings so far and conceding just 11 league goals all season.

Also in the running for the gong are Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale, Manchester United's David De Gea, Kepa Arrizabalaga of Chelsea and Lukasz Fabianski of West Ham.

Magpies supporters can vote for Pope by clicking here. The winner will be announced on Friday, 3rd February.
