A full Metro service will run to all destinations on Saturday, 10th August.

Newcastle United take on Brest at St. James' Park with a 4pm (BST) kick-off while Newcastle United Women face AC Milan at 1pm BST.

Monument Metro station will be closed from the start of service on Saturday as a precaution, but operators Nexus expect to re-open it later in the day with the agreement of the police.

There will also be a full bus service into and across the city centre, with some local diversion in place due to road closures.

Huw Lewis, Customers Service Director at Nexus, said: "Closing selected city centre stations is something we've done in the recent past for events including the Great North Run, Sam Fender concerts and Champions League football games.

"It's a sensible way to manage crowds when there is a lot going on in the city to keep things running smoothly for customers. There are always alternative stations within walking distance."

Tickets for both games are on sale from book.newcastleunited.com.
