That day, he booked four players in total, including Newcastle's Mikel Merino. In total this season, he has refereed 11 games - ten of them in the Premier League - and shown 28 yellow cards. He has yet to send a player off this term.

He took charge of two Newcastle games last season - the EFL Cup quarter-final tie at Hull City, when United lost on penalties, and the 1-1 Emirates FA Cup third round draw at Birmingham City.

On Saturday, Swarbrick will be assisted by Harry Lennard and Richard West. Lee Mason will be the fourth official.
