Newcastle United welcomed a number of supporter groups to a ‘United As One’ fan event at St. James’ Park on Wednesday evening to introduce them to the club’s CEO, chief commercial officer and a number of senior executives.

Groups including Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST), Newcastle United Disabled Supporters Association (NUDSA) and United With Pride were invited to join Darren Eales, Peter Silverstone and a cross-section of directors and department heads at Shearer’s Bar.

Taking place ahead of Wednesday’s sold-out Carabao Cup round three fixture with Crystal Palace, the informal event gave fans an opportunity to meet Darren and Peter face-to-face, as well as a chance to provide initial feedback on a range of supporter issues and ideas.

Organised by the club’s head of supporter services, Sarah Medcalf, and hosted by Justin Lockwood, the event followed the news on Tuesday that all 20 Premier League clubs had unanimously voted in a new Fan Engagement Standard.

Newcastle United's subsequent Fan Engagement Plan will be published in early 2023 and will detail how the club is committing to long-term meaningful engagement with supporters.

Darren said: "I really enjoyed the event. It was great to see some familiar faces and an ideal opportunity to chat with many supporters who Peter and I hadn't had the chance to hear from directly yet.

"This club has incredible support and it is important that we bring supporters along with us in anything we do. Fan engagement is central to our progress, and we look forward to rolling out our Fan Engagement Plan early in the New Year."
