Eddie Howe's side take on Graham Potter's Blues in their final Premier League fixture before the FIFA World Cup break and this will be the first time Jones has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies this term.

The Merseyside whistler was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 3-3 draw against Brentford in November 2021 and handed out four yellow cards that afternoon, booking Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin during the six-goal thriller at St. James' Park.

Jones, who made his Premier League debut as a referee in December 2019, has taken charge of eight English top-flight matches so far this term, showing a total of 28 yellow cards but is yet to show a red card.
