A round-up of this weekend's action involving the Magpies loanees...

Max Thompson

The England under-18 international, who joined United’s youth set-up at the age of 11, kept a clean sheet for Northampton Town as the Cobblers recorded a 2-0 victory against Burton Albion in League One on Saturday afternoon.

Second half strikes from Marc Leonard and Sam Hoskins ended the Shoe Army’s five-game winless streak in the English third tier, with Thompson registering a third clean sheet in his last four league outings.

Ryan Fraser

The Scotland international started on the bench for the Saints' 2-1 home victory against West Bromwich Albion before replacing goalscorer Will Smallbone in the 55th minute.

Despite the Baggies equalising through Kyle Bartley, former Magpies striker Adam Armstrong netted the winner at St Mary’s Stadium, leaving the Hampshire-based outfit situated in fourth place of the English second tier, nine points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.

Joe White

The Cumbrian-born youngster played the full 90 minutes of Crewe Alexandra’s 1-0 win against fellow promotion-chasing Notts County on Saturday, with Courtney Baker-Richardson’s stoppage-time penalty sealing a fourth victory in their previous five League Two matches.

The Alex currently occupy fourth place in the English fourth tier, six adrift of leaders Stockport County.

Jamal Lewis

The Luton-born left-back started for Watford as the Hornets thrashed Rotherham United in a 5-0 triumph at Vicarage Road, with the 32-time Northern Ireland international substituted in the 68th minute with the score situated at 3-0.

Matt Bondswell

The Nottingham-born left-back played the full 90 minutes of Newport County’s goalless draw with Milton Keynes Dons at Rodney Parade in League Two on Saturday.

Isaac Hayden

The central midfielder played the opening 69 minutes of Standard Liege’s Belgian First Division clash away at Antwerp, with the Reds suffering a humiliating 6-0 thrashing.

Harrison Ashby

Ashby started for Swansea City away at Ipswich Town last weekend and was replaced in stoppage-time during the Swans’ 3-2 defeat at Portman Road.

Kell Watts

Watts was introduced in the 57th minute of Wigan Athletic’s 1-1 draw away at Cheltenham Town on Saturday, replacing Baba Adeeko, with both goals netted in the first half while Stephen Humphrys missed a second half penalty at the Whaddon Road Ground.

Yankuba Minteh

The injured Minteh missed out on Feyenoord’s 1-0 home victory against AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie, the fifth competitive game the Gambia international has missed to date.

Garang Kuol

The Australian teenager, who became his country's youngest ever player to appear at a World Cup after featuring at last year's finals in Qatar, was a 64th minute arrival during Volendam’s 4-1 home defeat to Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie.

Rodrigo Vilca

The Peruvian, who joined the Magpies from Deportivo Municipal on a four-year deal in October 2020, started Vozdovac’s Serbian Liga clash against Radnicki Kragujevac but was substituted at half-time during the club’s 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

Cameron Ferguson

The Liverpool-born striker, son of former Magpies forward Duncan, featured in the latter stages of Forfar Athletic’s 1-1 draw against Clyde in Scottish League Two, joining from the bench in the 77th minute before Forfar skipper Stuart Morrison netted an 89th minute equaliser at Station Park.

Jay Turner-Cooke

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was named on the bench for St Johnstone’s Scottish Premiership visit of Ross County but did not feature during the Saints’ 1-0 victory at McDiarmid Park.
