Matty Longstaff scored for Mansfield Town for a third match in a row on Friday night

But the Stags' long unbeaten run came to an end at Tranmere Rovers, with the home side scoring an injury time winner.

Substitute Elliott Nevitt struck twice for the home side as Nigel Clough's Yellows lost for the first time in 15 league games.

Peter Clarke had given Tranmere an early lead but Longstaff swept home an equaliser on the stroke of half time with his third goal in five appearances following his January loan move.

Nevitt edged Rovers ahead in the second half, but Ollie Hawkins looked to have earned Mansfield a point with a late leveller.

However, Nevitt struck again with seconds left on the clock but Mansfield stay in the League Two play-off places despite their defeat. Longstaff, who spent the first half of the campaign with Aberdeen, played the full game.
