Aarons, 24, has helped Wycombe to second in League One, contributing two goals in 13 appearances (seven starts) in all competitions.
The winger, who has previously spent time on loan with Hellas Verona, Slovan Liberec and Sheffield Wednesday, as well as making 27 appearances for Newcastle, missed out on a place in Steve Bruce's 25-man Premier League squad at the beginning of the season.
Left-back Gibson, 22, missed nearly two years of football after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in January 2015, which led to him undergoing four operations and threatened not only his football career but, at one stage, his life, but made 24 appearances for League Two Grimsby.
Gibson has also had temporary spells with Gateshead and Accrington Stanley.
Both players have already played in this season's FA Cup, so are not eligible for Tuesday night's replay against Rochdale.
