Magpies midfielder up for monthly award for his stunner against Manchester City

Christian Atsu's clever free kick in the 88th minute allowed Shelvey to fire home from 22 yards, with the England international showing outstanding technique to earn his side a point against the champions.

And he has now been shortlisted for the monthly prize for his goal. Voting opened at 1pm (GMT) on Friday, 6th December and closes at 6pm (GMT) on Monday, 9th December. Supporters can vote here.

Speaking to NUFC TV about his goal on Saturday, Shelvey said: "Luckily I've caught it nicely. I don't think I've ever scored at that end so it was nice to get it in front of the crowd. It's such a nice feeling."

His teammate, Matty Longstaff, won October's Premier League Budweiser Goal of the Month award for his winner against Manchester United, while Jetro Willems was shortlisted for September's prize for his howitzer against Liverpool at Anfield.

Kevin De Bruyne's goal for Manchester City against Newcastle is also up for this month's award, while Harry Wilson of Bournemouth is nominated twice - once for his goal against the Magpies and then again for a strike against Tottenham.

Tammy Abraham of Chelsea is shortlisted for a goal against Watford, Ruben Neves of Wolves is nominated for a goal against Arsenal, Liverpool's Fabinho gets a nod for a piledriver against Liverpool and Wolves' Joao Moutinho has been shortlisted for an effort against Bournemouth.

The winner will be announced later this month.
