Howe’s high-flying Magpies scored a league-leading 12 goals during the month, helped by a historic 8-0 away win against Sheffield United.

United claimed a 1-0 victory against Brentford at St. James’ Park before a rampant goalscoring display against the Blades at Bramall Lane was followed up by a 2-0 win against Burnley on home soil, recording three successive clean sheets in the process to end September.

Also nominated alongside Howe are Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, Jürgen Klopp of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou.
