Paraguay got their Copa América campaign under way with a win as they beat Bolivia on Tuesday

With Miguel Almirón playing the full game at Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico in Goiânia - and posing a threat throughout to La Verde - Paraguay recovered from falling behind to an Erwin Saavedra penalty in the tenth minute.

Jaume Cuéllar was sent off for Bolivia in first-half stoppage time for two yellow cards - the first for a foul on Almirón - and Paraguay made their numerical advantage count in the second period, with Kaku equalising just after the hour mark before Ángel Romero stuck twice to give La Albirroja the points.

They had 79 per cent of possession and 34 shots to Bolivia's four, and the result means they are top of Group A after the first round of matches.

Almirón and his team face Argentina at Estádio Nacional de Brasília on Tuesday, 22nd June (kick-off 1am BST).

On Friday, 25th June they take on Chile at the same venue, before their final group game against Uruguay at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, 29th June.
