Ciaran Clark knows Newcastle can't take League Two side lightly in Emirates FA Cup tie

The Hatters have lost just one of their last 14 games in all competitions, winning 11 of them, and are currently top of Sky Bet League Two.

And while Newcastle's Premier League class will be expected to tell at St. James' Park, Luton will be looking to pull off a shock - just as Oxford United did last season when they knocked the Magpies out at the fourth round stage.

Clark wasn't involved that day, but the defender is determined to avoid another humbling cup exit against lower league opponents.

And, speaking to nufc.co.uk, he warned: "They're doing really well - they're ten points clear of third place (in their division) - so it's going to be a tough game for us.

"They're obviously going to be really up for it, we want to be up for it and make sure we're in the draw for the next round.

"It's a massive competition and we want to have that cup run. I know the fans would love it if we could put a little run together and do well in this competition and we want to go out there, enjoy the game and hopefully come off with a win."

Luton will be backed by more than 7,000 travelling supporters and Clark admitted: "It's a massive day for them.

"These are the ties that lower league clubs dream of, playing against Premier League opposition at the big stadiums, and we're going to have to be well on our game at the weekend if we want to be through to the next round."

Tickets for the game are on general sale, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors, seniors and students - but this will rise to £20 and £10 respectively on the day of the game.

Cash turnstiles will not be in operation on matchday and supporters are strongly advised to purchase tickets in advance. To secure your seat, please visit tickets.nufc.co.uk, call 0844 372 1892 (calls cost 7p per minute plus your network access charge) or visit the St. James' Park box office in person.
