Bruno Guimarães' spectacular winner at Southampton has been nominated for the Budweiser Premier League goal of the month award for March.

The Newcastle United midfielder netted a stunning backheeled volley at St. Mary's on what was his first start for the club since his move from French side Lyon in January.

The 52nd-minute strike earned the Magpies a 2-1 win, after Chris Wood had cancelled out Stuart Armstrong's effort before the break.

And the Brazilian international's first goal in black and white has been shortlisted for the division's monthly award, with United supporters able to vote for the 24-year-old to win from 1pm on Thursday.

Guimarães is joined on the shortlist by Watford's Cucho Hernandez, Chelsea's Reece James, Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli and Wolves' Ruben Neves.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, Kai Havertz of Chelsea and Timothy Castagne of Leicester City are also nominated.

Supporters can vote for Guimarães by clicking here. Voting is set to close at 12pm on Monday, 28th March and the winner will be announced at 1pm on Friday, 1st April.
