All eyes will be on St. James' Park as Liverpool go in search of their first league title in 29 years - while Rafa Benítez will look to mastermind a seventh home win in eight games against his former club.

And 48-year-old Marriner will be the man in the middle. It will be fifth game involving Newcastle United that he's overseen this season; he took charge of the Magpies' home defeats against Manchester United and Brighton and away games at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

In total he has refereed 31 matches in all competitions this term, showing 80 yellow cards and three red cards. He has been a Premier League referee since 2004 and took charge of the 2013 FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan Athletic.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Lee Betts and Simon Long. Kevin Friend will be the fourth official.
