Peter Beardsley’s side face the Seagulls at Crawley Town’s Checkatrade.com Stadium, hoping to seal their third league win of the campaign – a result which would see them draw level on ten points with Blackburn Rovers, who currently sit second in the table behind leaders Middlesbrough.
Leaders Boro are the only team to have inflicted league defeat on the Magpies youngsters so far this season, 1-0 at Heritage Park in August, with Beardsley’s team beating Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion before last week’s 2-2 draw with Norwich City at St. James’ Park.
United had led 2-0 through goals from Luke Charman and Macaulay Gillesphey, but were pegged back by the Canaries in the second half, as goals from Devonte Aransibia and an Adam Phillips penalty drew the visitors – for whom former United forward Darren Huckerby was among the coaching staff – level.
Magpies first teamer Freddie Woodman could feature for Newcastle, while Yasin Ben El-Mhanni could return from injury.
Tickets are available at the turnstiles at the Checkatrade.com Stadium, priced at £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s and over-65s.
