England under-21 international keeper joins Aberdeen on loan

The England under-21 international enjoyed a successful spell in the Scottish Premiership with Kilmarnock in the second half of last term, and has now linked up with the second-placed Dons for the remainder of the current campaign.

Woodman - who made his reserve team debut for Newcastle as a 14-year-old in October 2011 - was given his senior bow for the Magpies in this month's Emirates FA Cup win over Luton Town.

He had previously gained experience with Hartlepool United and Crawley Town before making 15 appearances for Kilmarnock last season.

Woodman was one of England’s heroes as they won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup last summer and has been on the bench in the Premier League on three occasions this term - including Wednesday night's draw with Burnley.

Aberdeen's first-choice goalkeeper, Joe Lewis, likely to be sidelined for at least the next two months due to injury.
