The Magpies, who have won the famous competition six times, host Rovers on Tyneside on Saturday (kick-off 5.30pm GMT) as they bid to reach round four for a third consecutive season.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper featured between the sticks during the Magpies' 3-1 victory over Luton Town at the same stage a year ago, playing in front of over 47,000 fans at St. James' Park.
And Woodman, who made his first appearance for Newcastle's Reserve side as a 14-year-old seven years ago, would relish the chance of a second senior start for United against Blackburn - and his former Newcastle and England youth team-mate Adam Armstrong - this weekend.
"On a personal note, to make my debut was special and to get a victory to progress into the next round was nice," Woodman told nufc.co.uk. "It was really good to play (against Luton) last season so I'm really looking forward to the cup game this week and hopefully we can get a similar result.
"It is always great playing at St. James' Park. Last year, it was a home tie and it was more comfortable as you are familiar with your surroundings.
"I've played a lot of under-23 games at the stadium which is always helpful. Hopefully, the fans will turn out for the game and show their support."
Woodman, an Under-20 World Cup winner with England alongside Armstrong in 2017, revealed that his experience with the first-team has been beneficial in the early stages of his career.
"Since I've been 17, I've been on the first-team bench around 40 to 50 times which is all good experience," he said.
"Being able to travel with the team and seeing them all up close is great, especially working closely with Martin (Dúbravka), who has been brilliant so far this season. I always like to keep learning and continuing to improve as a player."
