Chris Wood has been backed this week to come back and haunt his old side by bagging his first goal in new colours when Newcastle visit Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday

The New Zealand striker scored 41 goals in 83 league appearances in his two years at Elland Road, but has also scored against them three times in his career - and a fourth is on the cards if the betting is anything to go by.

Wood made the most of his 6ft 3ins by winning four headers on his debut against Watford last weekend and added three shots to take his tally for the season to 33 in 19 league games. He is being tipped to provide the main goal threat for Newcastle and was chalked up as the most likely first goalscorer at 6/1 should the visitors strike first, a price which has now been boosted to 7/1 by BoyleSports.

The new number 20 has also been backed down to 7/4 from 9/4 to score any time during the game, while the chances of him hitting two or more past his former club have been clipped into 11/1 from 12/1.

Travelling fans can go into this one buoyed by the fact that Elland Road has been a happy hunting ground for the Magpies, who have scored on every single visit to Leeds since a 0-0 draw on Boxing Day in 1994.

Since then, Newcastle have won seven of their eleven matches at Elland Road, scoring at least two goals on each of their six visits there this century and racking up a total of 16 goals. They are 7/5 shots to keep that record going this weekend by scoring more than once, while a morale-boosting victory for Eddie Howe's men is rated an 11/4 shot.

BoyleSports are also delighted to be offering all Newcastle fans an exclusive Bet £10 and receive £30 in free bets which can be accessed by clicking here.
