Martin Dúbravka and DeAndre Yedlin were both victorious for their respective national teams, with the duo keeping clean sheets on Thursday night.

Slovakia kicked off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 home victory over Hungary, with Dúbravka starting in between the sticks for their opening fixture as Ondrej Duda and Albert Rusnák netted in either half.

The shot-stopper could go head to head with fellow Newcastle team mate Paul Dummett in their next Group E fixture, with Slovakia facing Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

Overnight, USA claimed a 1-0 friendly victory over Ecuador, with Yedlin introduced from the bench after replacing Jordan Morris after 68 minutes at Orlando City Stadium. Gyasi Zardes' strike ten minutes from time sealed the victory for Gregg Berhlater's side.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was an unused substitute for England Under-21s' as the Young Lions drew 1-1 against their Poland counterparts in an entertaining friendly encounter at Bristol City's Ashton Gate.
