The young Magpies had been due to take on Boro in an Under-18 Premier League clash at United’s Little Benton academy, kicking off at 11am, but heavy rain overnight rendered the pitch unplayable meaning the game has been called off.

A rearranged date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
