The England international joined the Magpies from Atlético Madrid at the beginning of the month and has wasted no time in showing his quality at St. James' Park.
He impressed on his debut despite the Magpies losing to Cambridge United in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, and put in another excellent performance on his Premier League bow for the club against Watford a week later.
And the right-back was then integral in United's 1-0 win at Leeds to scoop the award with 45 per cent of the vote.
Jonjo Shelvey was the runner-up with 24 per cent of the vote, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Fabian Schär also nominated for the monthly prize.
