Chris Moore's side were put through their paces at the Magpies' Little Benton Academy ahead of facing their Seagulls counterparts as the likes of Trevan Sanusi and Sean Neave, both representatives of England at under-18 level, were out on the grass in preparation for the highly-anticipated tie.

The young Magpies, one of 32 sides to join the competition at the third round stage, have won the cup twice in their history after tasting success in 1962 before a side including Geordie midfielder Paul Gascoigne lifted the trophy in 1985 and the current crop of promising youngsters will be dreaming of following in illustrious footsteps.
