Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has made two changes to his side for the visit of Birmingham City on Saturday.

Vurnon Anita replaces DeAndre Yedlin at right back, slotting into a back four alongside captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett.

And Mohamed Diame comes in for Ayoze Perez just behind lone frontman Dwight Gayle as the Magpies look to get back to winning ways after three straight defeats in all competitions.

Jonjo Shelvey - who, along with Dummett, saw his red card in the 2-1 reverse at Nottingham Forest rescinded in the week - starts alongside Isaac Hayden in the middle, with Matt Ritchie wide on the right and Yoan Gouffran on the left.

And goalkeeper Karl Darlow continues in goal after saving two penalties at the City Ground last time out.

American full back Yedlin, Achraf Lazaar and Chancel Mbemba offer defensive cover from the bench, with Matz Sels, Cheick Tiote, Christian Atsu and Aleksandar Mitrovic also named among the substitutes.
