Lascelles was outstanding in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup victory over Manchester City and is one of three players to stay in the side after that game.
The others are Nick Pope - who will be in goal against his former club - and goalscorer Alexander Isak, with Callum Wilson also not part of the squad due to a minor injury.
That means there are eight changes to the team which beat City and three to the side which thrashed Sheffield United in the league last weekend, with Harvey Barnes' foot injury ruling him out and Anthony Gordon starting.
In front of Pope, who made more than 150 appearances for the Clarets before joining the Magpies, is a defence comprising of Kieran Trippier, Lascelles, Fabian Schär and Dan Burn.
Elliot Anderson keeps his place in the engine room alongside Sean Longstaff and Bruno Guimarães, while Isak is supported by Gordon and Miguel Almirón.
Martin Dúbravka returns to the bench after illness while the other substitutes are Tino Livramento, Paul Dummett, Lewis Hall, Matt Targett, Matt Ritchie, Sandro Tonali, Joelinton and Jacob Murphy.
