Summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin will make his first Newcastle United start in the Magpies’ Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (4:30pm kick-off).

The 22-year-old, who joined United from Nice earlier this month, missed last weekend’s defeat to Norwich City through injury, but will line up against Spurs in what will be Newcastle’s first ever game at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Frenchman’s inclusion in the starting XI is one of two changes made by head coach Steve Bruce, who has also brought midfielder Sean Longstaff back into the team, with Jonjo Shelvey and Ki Sung-yueng the players to make way.

Martin Dúbravka continues in goal, with Emil Krafth and Matt Ritchie in the right and left wing-back roles respectively.

Captain Jamaal Lascelles is flanked by Fabian Schär and Paul Dummett in the centre of defence, with Longstaff partnering Isaac Hayden in midfield.

And Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almirón will provide support for frontman Joelinton, who starts after recovering from the knock he sustained at Carrow Road last Saturday.

Shelvey is named among the substitutes, along with Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Federico Fernández and Jetro Willems.

The returning Christian Atsu and Yoshinori Muto provide more attacking reinforcements on the bench in north London.
