Rafa Benítez has restored Salomón Rondón to the Newcastle United line-up for Saturday’s game against Watford at St. James’ Park.

The Venezuelan international will start up front for the Magpies for the first time since recovering from injury, replacing Ayoze Pérez in the only change from last weekend’s goalless draw at Southampton.

Martin Dúbravka, so impressive at St. Mary’s last Saturday, continues in goal behind a back four of DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernández and Paul Dummett.

In midfield, Jonjo Shelvey will partner Mo Diamé in the centre, with Matt Ritchie and Kenedy on the flanks.

And Yoshinori Mutō will play just behind on-loan frontman Rondón in attack.

Pérez is named on the bench for the clash with Javi Gracia’s men, with Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo and Fabian Schär also among the substitutes.

And Ki Sung-yueng, Christian Atsu and Joselu complete the list of players Benítez can call upon if required against the Hornets.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka; DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernández, Paul Dummett; Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey, Mo Diamé, Kenedy; Yoshinori Mutō; Salomón Rondón.

Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Fabian Schär, Ki Sung-yueng, Christian Atsu, Ayoze Pérez, Joselu.
