Yoshinori Muto will make his second Premier League start of the season when Newcastle United welcome Leicester City to St. James’ Park on New Year’s Day (3pm kick-off).

United begin 2020 by facing the Foxes on Wednesday, with Japanese international Muto – who netted his first home goal for the Magpies against Brendan Rodgers’ in August’s Carabao Cup tie – set to feature in attack alongside Miguel Almirón and Joelinton.

It will be the 27-year-old’s first start for Steve Bruce’s side since their defeat at the King Power Stadium in September.

Martin Dúbravka continues in goal for Newcastle, behind a back three of Fabian Schär, Federico Fernández and Florian Lejeune.

Javier Manquillo and Jetro Willems start in the right and left wing-back roles respectively, with Isaac Hayden partnering stand-in skipper Jonjo Shelvey in midfield.

And Muto, Almirón and Joelinton will line up in a three-pronged frontline for the Magpies.

Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll offer some attacking options on the bench for United, with Christian Atsu and Sean Longstaff also among the substitutes.

DeAndre Yedlin, Emil Krafth and Karl Darlow are also named as replacements against the Foxes.
