The Brazilian – who arrived at St. James’ Park in January – is ineligible to play against his parent club, with Murphy starting a Premier League game for just the second time since 3rd March.

Otherwise, United are unchanged from the side who narrowly lost to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Wednesday night.

There is a spot on the bench for Jesús Gámez, who has not featured for Newcastle since September’s 1-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Another player who has barely figured this term, Massadio Haïdara, is also named among Rafa Benítez’s list of substitutes, along with Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Isaac Hayden, Mikel Merino and Joselu.

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka, DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, Mohamed Diamé, Jonjo Shelvey, Jacob Murphy, Ayoze Pérez, Dwight Gayle.
