Daryl Murphy will make his first league start for Newcastle United in the Sky Bet Championship clash with Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon.

The Republic of Ireland international returns to lead the line in place of Yoan Gouffran, who returns to the left hand side of midfield after scoring from a central berth in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Birmingham City in midweek.

Karl Darlow is back in goal, with DeAndre Yedlin, captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett making up the back four.

Matchday programme cover star Matt Ritchie starts wide on the right, with Jonjo Shelvey partnering Isaac Hayden in the middle and Gouffran on the left.

And Ayoze Perez will provide support for Murphy in attack.

On the bench, 20-year-old Dan Barlaser - who made his debut in that midweek cup tie - is named among the substitutes, along with Matz Sels, Jamie Sterry, Grant Hanley, Massadio Haidara, Achraf Lazaar and Sammy Ameobi.
