Dwight Gayle has been restored to the Newcastle United line-up for Saturday’s Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion.

Forward Gayle comes back into the side in place of loanee Islam Slimani in what is manager Rafa Benítez’s only change from that lost 1-0 at Everton on Monday night.

That means Martin Dúbravka continues in goal, with DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Paul Dummett.

Matt Ritchie starts on the right-hand side of midfield, with Mo Diamé again partnering Jonjo Shelvey in the middle and Kenedy – in what will be the final home game of his loan spell with the club – lining up on the left.

And Ayoze Pérez will provide support for Gayle in attack.

On the bench, there is just one change from Monday night, with Joselu taking his place among the substitutes in place of Mikel Merino.

That means Benítez will be able to call upon Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, Jacob Murphy, Slimani and Joselu from the sidelines against the Baggies.

Newcastle United (4-4-1-1): Martin Dúbravka; DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett; Matt Ritchie, Mohamed Diamé, Jonjo Shelvey, Kenedy; Ayoze Pérez; Dwight Gayle.

Substitutes: Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden, Jacob Murphy, Islam Slimani, Joselu.
