Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has made five changes to his side for Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park (kick-off 1:30pm).

After the midweek penalty shoot-out victory over Nottingham Forest, head coach Howe has opted to restore Bruno Guimarães, Anthony Gordon, Sean Longstaff, Tino Livramento and Lloyd Kelly to the starting 11 for the visit of Ange Postecoglou's Spurs.

Nick Pope is in goal, with Livramento, Emil Krafth, Dan Burn and Kelly forming a four-man defence.

Longstaff and Guimarães both come into the midfield in place of Joe Willock and Sandro Tonali, who is among the substitutes, with Joelinton also lining up in the middle of the park.

And Gordon and Harvey Barnes will provide support for lone frontman Alexander Isak.

Tonali could feature from the bench for what would be his first home appearance since the expiration of his ten-month ban last week, with three other players who started at the City Ground on Wednesday - Lewis Hall, Kieran Trippier and Miguel Almirón also among the substitutes.

Martin Dúbravka, Matt Targett, Alex Murphy, Jacob Murphy and Will Osula complete the list of players Howe can call upon if required.

Newcastle United: Nick Pope; Tino Livramento, Emil Krafth, Dan Burn, Lloyd Kelly; Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton; Harvey Barnes, Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon.

Substitutes: Martin Dúbravka, Kieran Trippier, Alex Murphy, Matt Targett, Lewis Hall, Sandro Tonali, Jacob Murphy, Miguel Almirón, Will Osula.
