Darlow, who started United’s first two friendlies of the summer – against St. Patrick’s Athletic and Hull City – replaces Martin Dúbravka, who is not included in today’s squad.
Joselu, meanwhile, takes over Dwight Gayle’s role as lone frontman, with Ayoze Pérez again deployed behind.
The Magpies’ backline is unchanged to that which started Wednesday night’s 4-0 defeat to SC Braga, with DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett lining up right to left.
With Jonjo Shelvey on the bench, Mohamed Diamé and Isaac Hayden are again paired in central midfield, with Christian Atsu on the left and Matt Ritchie on the right.
Youngsters Sean Longstaff and Callum Roberts are among those who join Shelvey on the bench, with Jamie Sterry also included.
