Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has made one change to his starting line-up for Tuesday's visit of Crystal Palace, with Ciaran Clark starting against the Eagles.

The Irish centre-back is the only change from the Magpies' 2-0 win at Everton, replacing Jamaal Lascelles after the captain limped off during the second-half against the Toffees at Goodison Park.

Karl Darlow continues in goal while full-backs Javier Manquillo and Jamal Lewis occupy the right and left flanks respectively, with Fabian Schär partnering Clark in the heart of United's backline.

Jonjo Shelvey, who captains United for tonight's top-flight encounter, continues in the middle of the park alongside Isaac Hayden, who makes his 150th appearance for the Magpies this evening, while Jeff Hendrick also starts in midfield.

Miguel Almirón and Ryan Fraser, who has overcome a recent illness, will provide support for the Magpies' leading goalscorer Callum Wilson, who currently has ten league goals to his name.

Allan Saint-Maximin features on the substitutes' bench as well as attacking trio Joelinton, Dwight Gayle and Andy Carroll.

Paul Dummett, who missed United's last four Premier League fixtures, is also named on the bench along with Martin Dúbravka, Emil Krafth, Matty Longstaff and Elliot Anderson.

Newcastle United: Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Fabian Schär, Ciaran Clark, Jamal Lewis, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey (c), Jeff Hendrick, Ryan Fraser, Miguel Almirón, Callum Wilson.

Substitutes: Martin Dúbravka, Emil Krafth, Paul Dummett, Matty Longstaff, Allan Saint-Maximin, Elliot Anderson, Joelinton, Dwight Gayle, Andy Carroll.
