Bruno Guimarães returns to the Newcastle United starting XI for this afternoon's Premier League visit of AFC Bournemouth (kick-off 3pm BST)

The Brazil international midfielder has missed the Magpies' last three matches with a hamstring problem sustained against Tranmere Rovers in the Carabao Cup last month, but is fit enough to return against the Cherries. He comes in for Sean Longstaff.

Nick Pope, who won the Premier League's Castrol Save of the Month award for August last week, starts in goal, as he has done in all of United's league games this term, but there is one change to the defence from the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace a fortnight ago as Dan Burn replaces Sven Botman.

Burn partners Fabian Schär in the centre of defence while Kieran Trippier captains the side two days ahead of his 32nd birthday on Monday, and Matt Targett, who turns 27 on Sunday, is at left-back.

Guimarães joins Joe Willock and compatriot Joelinton in midfield, while Ryan Fraser - who faces his former club - and Miguel Almirón continue to provide support for Alexander Isak.

On the bench, recent signing Loris Kairus is the substitute goalkeeper after penning a short-term deal following an injury to Karl Darlow.

And he's joined in the dugout by Botman, Longstaff, Jamaal Lascelles, Javier Manquillo, Jamal Lewis, Matt Ritchie, Jacob Murphy and Chris Wood.
