Miguel Almirón and Harvey Barnes will start for Newcastle United on Sunday as Magpies boss Eddie Howe makes two changes to his side for the trip to Chelsea (kick-off 2pm GMT).

The Magpies face Enzo Maresca's men at Stamford Bridge seeking the points they need to climb back into the top half of the Premier League table, with Almirón coming in for Jacob Murphy following last weekend's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion and Barnes starting in place of Anthony Gordon, who misses out with a groin issue.

Nick Pope is in goal, with former Chelsea youngsters Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall at right and left back respectively and Fabian Schär partnering Dan Burn in central defence.

Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton line up in the middle of the park, with Almirón and Barnes providing support from the flanks for frontman Alexander Isak.

Murphy and Will Osula are the attacking reinforcements among the substitutes, while midfielders Sean Longstaff, Joe Willock and Lewis Miley are also named.

Defenders Emil Krafth and Lloyd Kelly are also on the bench, along with goalkeepers John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos.
